Following the events surrounding Shy Pluto, two new zones within known space have opened up. The Admiral has promoted two new Captains to the rank of Commodore to command these new Space Bases and work their sectors!
The Space Base: Command Station expansion allows players to expand their games of Space Base - to include two more players. Now six or seven Commodores can compete for the promotion to become the Admiral of the U.E.S. Fleet! Inside you will find two more player boards, two more sets of starting cubes, ship cards, and additional materials to help balance and streamline these bigger games.
This is an expansion for Space Base. You will need a copy of the Space Base core game to use this expansion. To make the 6-7 player game that this expansion offers even better, add content from the Space Base: Saga Expansion 1: The Emergence of Shy Pluto.
- 2 Additional player boards
- 24 Starting ship cards (2 sets of 12 starting ships)
- 14 Pre-deployed cards (2 per player)
- 2 Sets of starting cubes

The primary purpose of this set seems to be the allowance of more players. It includes more player boards, starting cards, and player cubes. It also includes starting cards that will speed up play. In addition, there are dice for all current colors. I don't like that the teal color looks very similar to green. It seems to me that they could have done a white set that could have used the preexisting clear set, and have used the blue set that came qith the original box: Now there are a bunch of extra dice. Still, it's nice that each color now has its own dice. I threw out the insert. I suppose that it could hold everything, but I keep the weirdly sized cards in standard 60-card deck boxes - the perfect size, sideways. The set also includes sleeves, but I already bought some from a company called Sleeve Kings, so it's too late for me. All in all, this set plugs holes. Get if you're starting out. Not as essential to broadening play like Pluto, but should be useful as the set grows.
