As a skilled artisan, you will use tools-of-the-trade and careful planning to construct a stained glass window masterpiece in the Sagrada Familia.

Players will take turns drafting glass pieces, represented by dice; carefully choosing where to place each one in their window. Windows have unique color and shade requirements, and similar dice may never be adjacent so placing each die is more challenging than the last. Fortunately, you’ll have just the right tools to help you through. Gain prestige by adapting to the preferences of your fickle admirers, and of course, by adding your own artistic flair while completing your glass masterpiece in Sagrada.

Sagrada - A Game of Dice Drafting and Window Crafting for 1 to 4 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Carefully designed by Daryl Andrews & Adrian Adamescu with graphic artistry by Peter Wocken.

    Satisfying and playable gateway game

Posted by Unknown on Aug 15th 2020

Sagrada is an entry-level dice placement game. We are fairly experienced gamers and we’ve found Sagrada has enough strategy and variety to engage us and is easy enough for non-gamers to learn and enjoy, too. Once you have the mechanics down, game play moves quickly. The theme (stained glass window building) is different than other games we know, the colorful art is beautiful, and the different objective cards and tools provide enough change to game play to keep us interested. The following improvements would have made it a five-star game: 1) improved rules. The rules are not as clear as they need to be in some aspects (what “drafting” actually means, which then allows you to know when and how a tool card can be used) 2) add two more game components: dice tray in which to roll the dice and a “starting player” piece or card 3) improved game materials. They materials aren’t as high quality as other games (cards are thin and game boards feel cheap). Also, while there is a 5-6 player expansion, this seems like a game that could have originally been for up to 6 players. These are little things that would improve the overall feel and quality of the game. Generally, a fun and satisfying family game!

A pretty looking Dice placement. A great gateway game with enough depth.

    Must have game!

This is an awesome game that makes you think, but isn't a 'brain burner.' It sets up extremely fast and has really good replayability, although I do wish it came with a few more window patterns, tool cards, and objective cards. I think its the combination of dice rolls, window patterns, tool cards, and placement choices made by the player, that keeps us wanting to play more. It plays surprising fast with 2 players by the way, and you'll find yourselves wanting to play another game right away! I initially played a friends copy and knew I had to own it after the first game.
