Two explorers embark on research journeys to remote corners of the world: the Himalayan mountains, the Central American rainforest, the Egyptian desert, a mysterious volcano, and the bottom of the sea. As the cards are played, the expedition routes take shape and the explorers earn points. The most daring adventurers make bets on the success of their expeditions. The explorer with the highest score after three rounds of expeditions wins. The rules of the game are simple, but beware: The lost cities hold many unseen mysteries!
This new edition features a sixth set of expedition cards and a two-sided game board: On one side is the classic five-expedition game. On the other side, a new variant with six expeditions is offered.

This is a simple card game with simple rules and a somewhat "quirky" scoring system. (When you need parenthesis in the equation to determine your score, that's quirky...)
Still, the game is fun and is far more tense than you'd ever expect from a card game. I'm really looking forward to playing this at campgrounds or restaurants where a small play space is a non-issue.
My concern though is regarding the quality of the cards themselves; they are very thin - almost paper-like, and bend very easily. When shuffling, I often flip the stacks of cards over so they don't keep getting bent in just one direction. I fear that - especially in environments like campgrounds, these might not last very long. Also, my box arrived damaged from GameNerdz. The box had a mild crease in the back and the insert inside the box was oddly mangled. I only spent something like $17 bucks on it though, so I didn't bother making a stink of it.
