"Papa, where do crystal golems come from?" "The great masters craft them using soul crystals." "Oh… but where do soul crystals come from?" "From all over the world. They are very rare. Legend says, they are the souls of people who died long before the first humans came to Carvania." "Well, when I grow up, I’m going to be a crystal trader! I’ll travel the whole world and I’ll find the very best crystals and the masters will make great big powerful golems from them, like the Gatekeeper!"
Centuries have passed since the first humans arrived on Caravania. Legends have been shared from one generation to the next explaining Caravania's most exotic and rare mysteries – the soul crystals. Legend has it that the souls of the planet's original inhabitants were so pure that after death they were preserved as mesmerizing and powerful crystals. Simply holding a soul crystal, one could feel the essence of life radiating from deep inside. It wasn't long after the discovery of the soul crystals' power that humans used them to build and activate towering golems. After many forgotten centuries, those pure souls are able to breath life once again. In Century: Golem Edition, players serve as traders attempting to collect crystals to create the most ornate and powerful of golems.

Fantastic little game that's simple to understand but has a depth of strategy that makes it fun for everyone. Art and components are fantastic, especially for the price. Only complaint is the insert doesn't fit sleeved cards.
Company quality is heads above anything else one finds in this price range.
Art is beautiful and "wife-approved."
Can't speak for the gameplay yet. But if it's anything like Splendor it'll be a winner.
On the negative side, Box could be smaller.
This game is very simple, making it a great gateway game. The components are fantastic, as is the packaging/insert. Randomness/chance have enough of an impact that you probably won't want to play it over and over too much, but it's accessibility and quality make it a great gateway or filler game.
I can’t believe I waited so long to buy this after putting it on my wishlist. It’s a fantastic deck-building/engine builder with wonderful art and fantastic components. Easy to teach and great replayability. In just the 2 weeks we’ve owned it, we’ve played it 5 different nights as a family.
I play this game with my wife and 8 yr old. Easy to teach and quick to play. The art style is beautiful and the stradegy is just complex enough.
The gameplay earns the often used phrase "elegant". The rules are simple yet complex. The games played are quick and usually tight feeling different each time because of the variety of adventurers to recruit and Golems to "create"/purchase. I have played successfully with adults, teenagers and even my 5 and 7 year old girls! All ages have adored the game. Last, but not least, the artwork is charming and detailed. I enjoy just looking at the cards while playing :)
Our family loves this game! The gems really make it exciting for our 7 and 5 year old.
Great artwork in the cards, fun strategy game
Century: Spice Road is a great game: easy to learn, fun to play, not boring or oversimplified. Golem Edition takes all of that and adds on beautiful whimsical art and great tactile crystals instead of colored cubes. If you're going to get a version of Century: Spice Road, get this one.
