Azul invites you, a tile laying artist, to embellish the walls of the Royal Palace of Evora.

Introduced by the Moors, "azulejos" (originally white and blue ceramic tiles) were fully embraced by the Portuguese, when their King Manuel I, on a visit to the Alhambra palace in Southern Spain, was mesmerized by the stunning beauty of the Moorish decorative tiles. The king, awestruck by the interior beauty of the Alhambra, immediately ordered that his own palace in Portugal be decorated with similar wall tiles.

Been wanting this hard to find game for a while now. I enjoy the repeatability, beautiful visual design & components. Its a welcome addition to my growing game collection & my first purchase from GameNerdz which I also recommend.

Easy to learn, plays fast, has some strategy

Posted by Tim on Apr 9th 2018

Subject pretty much says it all. With four players it takes about 30 minutes for a game. It's really beautiful, easy to learn but involves some strategy - both offensive and defensive. I highly recommend it.

Love this game! Not terribly complex, aesthetically pleasing, can be played with 1-4 people.

    Enjoyable game

Posted by Unknown on Mar 26th 2018

Let me begin by saying the only reason I rated this game 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's a maximum 4 player game. I really wish game makers would create more games for 6-8 players. Now on to the positives...simple and easy to teach a newbie yet challenging enough to keep the interest of the experienced player. Enough variables you never play the same game twice. The components feel substantial/sturdy and the colors make the game visually interesting. I always find when playing a colorful game in a public setting (hotel lobby, etc) it draws the interest of more passerby. Great game for the good price.

This is a great game... And we play a lot of games... Lots of fun, and perfect for a family of 3 or 4... We love it.

    Not so “Bored” game

Learned to play this game at a bar and liked it so much we bought it here. Fun matching game that is a step up from connect four and just as easy. Use strategy as well as luck! Have fun because we did.

A beautiful, colorful game that is easy to learn and play. Game is kid and family friendly. The playtime of Azul is not to long or short and I find to be a great filler in between games.
