    Fun, Fast Paced Game

Posted by Danielle on Sep 21st 2020

This is a great family game. It moves fast, as most of the time people are creating their potions simultaneously. It has luck and strategy elements. The theme is very interesting, and it really draws you in.
The only complaint I have about this game is that the storage for the chips is all baggies.
    Very annoying!
I suggest picking up some plastic containers with lids to help make set up and take down a lot more pleasant.
    Overall - I'd give it 4.5 stars

    Easy to Learn and Play

Posted by Eric Kohen on Aug 28th 2020

This is a fantastic push your luck game that I think works well for players of any age or level of player from beginner board gamer to hardcore fan.

It's really simple: Use an assortment of chips in your bag to see how far you can go each turn. The further you go, the more new helpful chips you can add to the bag for future turns, as well as victory points. However, push that luck too far and pull too many wrong chips from your bag and you get a minor setback compared to those that didn't.

What's great is that the aforementioned setback is really minor. It won't ruin your game or cause runaway leads.

The game, yes, is a slightly solo affair, but the fun is someone at the table announcing, "I'm going for it!" and everyone holding their breath to see if the next chip pulled will be a hit or miss.

This is not a game for folks looking for something long, complex, or that's anything that's not luck-based.

Clank! is a similar game I'd say is slightly more complicated than this, if you're looking for comparison. I'd consider Azul to be a similar experience for light rules but great game for players of all experience levels.

Overall, this is a game I can see coming out to the table because it's *not* a heavier more complicated game, but there's just enough here to hold experienced gamers, too.

    Quacks of Quedlinburg

Posted by Robert Dennison on Jul 28th 2020

Easy to learn. Variety of play. Strategy with a little luck for variety. Our son taught us the game. I immediately ordered it. My wife and I left it out to play several nights in a row. We invited friends over who are not big gamers. They caught on quickly and enjoyed the game. You can play in less than thirty minutes. It is as fun for two players as it is for four players. There are four sets of different boards to play. We have not felt the need to advance past the first.

    Quacks of Quedlinburg

Posted by Kelly Glover on Mar 6th 2020

I was on the fence about getting this game for a long time. I finally decided to order it, hoping that this would be a game that my kids would finally play with me. Especially my 10 year old who won't play any board games. And I am very happy to say that the game is a big success in my house. The kids love it, and so do the wife and I. I am very pleased with this purchase.
