Cool game, good price from GameNerdz

Posted by Robbo on Apr 2nd 2018

I purchased this and it arrived promptly, price is very good compared to FFG website. Packaging is high quality and looks great. Plastic minis have been removed from sprues and mostly cleaned up which is a big time saver. Detail on the minis is nice too. I purchased the extra dice pack to make sure you have enough (FFG are always mean with dice!).

What's in the box and how it plays

Posted by Greentinsel on Mar 31st 2018

Everything that is supposed to be in the box was in the box. I know FFG has some issues with getting all the correct supplies in the box with their first runs but I have I'm supposed, Nothing was disfigured or warped, and the quality of the plastic is awesome. These are mostly assembled and are unpainted. Assembly is easy and everything only fits one way out of the box. The game play is very fun. I really like how FFG does the whole unit card and upgrade card system with their miniature games.

Star Wars TTWG. Too good to be true?

Posted by JD Dibrell on Mar 30th 2018

So this is something many of us have waited decades for. The WotC version was ok but it was pretty much heroclix without the clicky base in terms of quality. Now a company known for Star Wars properties steps forward to make it happen. Initially I was extremely excited but then it waned a bit over time. Ultimately though I did pre-order & got my stuff. The game is a mixed bag. The rules need refining & cleaning up in several areas. It sometimes seems this was meant to be more like Dust Tactics or even Heroes of Normandy & along the line they went 3d with it. Some of the rules don't seem to work well with 3d, however. In addition the models themselves aren't the greatest. Not the worst either. They're a more heroic scale than imperial assault & larger. However, they have shallow detail & are an interesting material that's reminiscent of restic used by Mantic. The good though is that you can have a full standard sized force just using what's in the box & a single trooper box & a support unit (T-47 or AT-ST) per side meaning if you split the core set with a friend it's around $100 for a full army.

My verdict? Buy it if you love Star Wars. If not, pass on it till they iron out the kinks.

About $200 worth of stuff in this starter! It's a fun, fast paced game that really captures Star Wars!
